A rare 18th Century powder magazine made of thick stiffened hard leather with a removable top which screws off. Inside this top is a screw out double ended nozzle with different sizes of spout at each end. There would originally have been a hasp and staple to lock the top but this is now missing. Height 12" overall. Good condition. All the stitching is good and although the leather is surface crazed it is solid and very rigid. |

These high relief flasks are only occasionally encountered and were probably the first flasks to be produced from the die hence the high quality embossing. Marked Dixon & Sons on the charger. Good condition with a mixture of lacquer and patina. The spring is broken. |

The horn has been scraped until it is translucent so the shooter could see how much powder there was in the flask.
