A rare 54 Bore bullet mould for Beaumont Adams percussion revolver serial no. 31766R owned by Sir Charles Compton William Domvile (1822-1884). This has an interesting Irish connection. Sir Charles inherited the estates of Shankill and Rathmichael near Dublin and was known as an uncompromising and ruthless landlord. He sought to change the usage of land from the smallholdings that existed at the time of his inheritance of the estate to build grand Georgian-style housing developments, squares and streets to gentrify the area and evicted over 100 tenants, during a period of grinding poverty. Small wonder he needed a revolver as he must have been an extremely unpopular man. Excellent condition and with infamous provenance. A great piece for the student of Irish history.
