Code BM0028, Price £275 (GBP)
A good quality 19th Century .577 mould with side pourer and hollow base for an Enfield or similar bullet. The mould was made by William Davis and is stamped WD on one arm. It is also stamped JAS and the date 1861. I don't know who JAS is but the date would be contempory with the period of use. Possibly a US Civil War item? Good condition. The cavities are good. The hollow base plug looks as though it has been replaced but it is of the right size and style and could be aged down to match the condition of the rest of the mould. |
